A key ingredient of my coaching style is that YOU are the focus of our time together. It's YOUR life after all and YOU are the one that will be making any changes in YOUR life.
Our sessions together are open, safe and confidential. At the end of the day, your honesty with yourself is a vital part of your growth, and I will do all I can to facilitate that in our time together.
Hi, my name is Colin, counsellor in Whangarei. I have over 30 years experience working with individuals (children, youth, adults), families and couples.
We all experience difficulties at times in our lives that cause us to struggle, lose hope and feel like our life is out of control. I believe it is possible to gain the strength needed to face our issues, the hope to move forward and the balance to feel in control of our lives again. Counselling can assist in helping you to overcome life’s hurdles in a positive way.

It’s okay to be, and sometimes feel, a little messy. Life is messy and I know this isn’t easy!
But you don’t have to do it alone, so I am so glad you are exploring options to support yourself.
You deserve this!
If you are struggling and need someone to talk too, you are in the right space.
I work with individuals, teens and parents/families as well as ethnic minorities.
I’m here to understand your life’s intricacies and offer an integrative approach to therapy. With a master’s degree in Psychology and ongoing training in Depth Psychotherapy, I draw inspiration from various therapies, including CBT, Positive Psychology, and Mindfulness.
I offer confidential empathetic opportunities for people to explain their difficulties or circumstances and then guide them to clarify the issues and explore practical strategies and alternatives for working through these challenges and moving towards satisfactory resolutions.
Hi. I’m Kathryn – a life & mindset coach and Root Cause Therapy Practitioner.
Originally from the UK, I called beautiful New Zealand my home for the last 18 years, and have now begun a new adventure in Australia.
As both a “trauma-informed” coach and a Root Cause Therapist, my passion is working with clients who recognise that they have underlying thoughts and emotions which continue to keep them stuck in unhelpful patterns of behaviour on a day-to-day basis.
A key focus and passion is trauma recovery for big T and little t trauma. It may be very recent or from our past. Such trauma as childhood sexual abuse, abandonment, neglect, earthquakes, violence, bullying, car accidents, and warfare.
My work has given me the privilege of working with a wide range of people with differing backgrounds and circumstances with whatever brings them to therapy: low mood, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, repeating patterns, grief, and addictions. Sometimes people don’t know what brings them to therapy. They might not feel right, and have a need for clarity – therapy is often a great place for addressing this.
